Youth Transitions is for young people not currently in education or employment for 8 hours or more.
Youth Transitions is a free service just for young people aged 15-24, such as early school leavers or HSC graduates. It aims to improve work-ready skills, enable you to reach further study and most importantly help you into employment.
SIP is funded by the Federal Government as a Transition to Work (TtW) provider and by the NSW State Government as a Smart, Skilled & Hired provider. These two initiatives make up our Youth Transitions service, and our employment services are free to young people and employers alike.
The service is flexible to cater for the needs of young people. Typically this involves working with your a Youth Development Coach (think Job Coach) and attending events.
Things like free workshops to learn relevant work skills, training tasters and work experience to get a hands-on idea about the industry, guest speakers, and visits by employers.
With Youth Transitions, you are able to access real-world opportunities in the workplace. There are different ways to become a participant in the Youth Transitions service.
If you’re on benefits you could get referred by Centrelink or transferred by jobactive, or anyone can just walk into one of our shops or call us up to make an appointment!
