Transition to Work

The Transition to Work (TtW) service is an initiative of the Australian Government to support eligible young persons  aged 15-24 on their journey to post-school employment. Our services are based on a Holistic, individualised service model developed by the Brotherhood of St Laurence and a community of practice of not-for-profit’s around Australia. The Australian Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR) selected SIP as the TtW provider for the Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury and Penrith regions in 2022. Our TtW team works closely with the Brotherhood of St Laurence’s Inclusive Pathways to Employment (IPE) pilot project. SIP is only one of 4 organisations across Australia selected to trial new ways to support young people with disability on pathways to work. Inspiring the Future

Our Inspiring the Future program is dedicated to raising aspirations of students, by connecting them with volunteers that can provide advice and guidance about future career pathways. We have applied our deep knowledge of the education and industry environment to bring evidence-based initiatives led by UK charity Education and Employers to school students across Australia. We partner with local schools to run events for primary and secondary school students to connect them with mentors and ideas about future employment opportunities. In addition, we equip teachers with resources and connect them with volunteers who can share their knowledge and experiences in the classroom.
